OpenManage Server Administrator

Is it possible to configure the OpenManage Server Administrator (Dell OpenManage Server Administrator Version 5.1.0 on a poweredge 1950), to email Alerts. If so what would I need to do so, and how?

If it can not send out an email, can I have it broadcast only to the employees in the IT department.

You could use OMSA in conjuction with OpenManage IT Assistant (ITA) to get Email alerts. One ITA installation could listen to OMSA alerts from all the managed servers, and based on the filter criteria you set, it can take specific actions like running a script or sending an email.
 
Also, just fyi there is a newer version of OMSA out there (v5.3), always good to upgrade to the latest version.
