PowerEdge r520 raid 1 question
HI,
I have a new dell powerEdge r520 with 8 drive 300gb each, I would like to set raid 1+1,
should I do it from the BIOS (raid configuration or something like that) or should I leave it like it is (raid 5) and set raid 1 from windows???
can someone explain that to me what is the best way to do it

Hi Krosso,
Thanks a lot for your post.
You can create RAID 1 on your system from RAID controller configuration setting. Please follow the below mentioned step to create RIAD configuration on Dell PowerEdge R520.
1: Reboot your system and press Ctrl+R on RAID Controller configuration.{Instruction displayed on system boot screen}
2: Inside RAID controller select the primary controller and open the RAID configuration.
3: Select the RAID mode and HDD to configure the RAID.
4: After that initialize the VD and exit from RAID Controller configuration with save configuration option, and reboot your system.
