Did you ever find a solution to this. I am having the exact same problem?

Did you guys get the solution for this? It is fixed by the softOSD client update here: http://www.entechtaiwan.com/files/sm_client.exe (~600kb)
You can also fix it by setting a registry switch in old versions of the client, but it requires restarting the softOSD service manually or by rebooting. Do a search for "DetectHP" and set it to zero.
