RAC Tool "Verification Failed"
I've installed the RAC tool on a Win8 workstation for use configuring four "new" R610 servers. The RAC tool discovers the iDRAC6s fine, but it won't verify the admin accounts.
The servers are currently on a small work group LAN so I've not configured AD or DNS, and haven't added accounts beyond the "root" account. So root is what i'm giving RAC as the administrator account. The iDRAC has been updated to the latest version (as well as the BIOS and LC). The Web UI works great.

Hello
Check the iDRAC log to see if a login attempt is being made against the iDRAC. If nothing shows up in the log then there might be some security that is blocking it.
Another possibility might be password complexity. Some of our utilities do not work well with special characters. If you have special characters in your password then simplify the password to test if that is the issue.
Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions Daniel. The iDRAC log is showing the login and that is usually followed by "closing session" (but not always):
2015 May 29 16:51:54 os[6288] root closing session from 10.0.3.63
2015 May 29 16:51:53 os[6283] root login from 10.0.3.63
My password is very simple and is only alpha numeric. If i put in an incorrect password or user name, RAC returns a status of "Access Denied" and the iDRAC log shows "login failed".
I'm also seeing this log entry on startup:
1970 System Boot 00:01:41 idrac_discovery[1532] Discovery and Handshake disabled.

According to the log the app is successfully logging into the iDRAC and then closing the session. It sounds like everything is happening like it should, but the RAC tool application is not updating the status correctly. This sounds like an issue with the application.
Make sure you are running the latest version: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=5T1PD
I tested that version running on Windows 8.1 and did not have any issues testing against a DRAC 5 and iDRAC7. I didn't have an iDRAC6 readily available to test with. Try running the app as admin, uninstall/reinstall, or if you haven't restarted the computer since install then restart the system.
Thanks

Which version of DRACT are you using. Windows 8 support is added in DRAT 1.2 version. Can you also confirm error message displayed on tool while authenticating and license installed on iDRAC.
