Repository location

Question

Is there any way to change the default location of the repository?   I've changed the Repository table in the database, both the default ITA and Online.   The new location is a share on a file server, which is mapped to a local drive. After this it's unable to store downloaded or imported updates to those locations or create update packages. The user logged into IT assistant has full NTFS rights to the new location.   Any ideas?

Thanks for posting!  Check the permissions on the default location's directory, and make sure the new location matches.  It is probably an administrator account, or whatever was used to install ITA.

I checked the permissions and it's probably the system permission that is needed. As far as i know you can't deploy local system rights to a network share. So a mapped network drive is not going to work. It has to be a local drive. I've temporarily assigned a LUN from the SAN to this (virtual) machine and the new path works now.   Maybe its a good idea to include a new feature in future versions to change the repository path with support for network drives?
