Software Update Tool
For a PowerEdge server, what is the proper management software to install to be able to keep drivers and firmware updated?

Thanks for posting! If you are just updating a few servers, then there is no software to install. Just download the pieces of the Dell Server Updates disk, concatenate them, and let the disk autorun from the server's OS if it is supported. If you are trying to update servers in larger numbers by pushing the updates, then you should install OMSA on all the servers, and set up SNMP so that a management program can discover them.
If you are dealing with less than 100 servers, I suggest using IT Assistant. If you are dealing with more servers, I suggest using the Dell Management Console.

Jeff, thank you for your reply! I had seen the Dell Server Updates disk but wasn't sure if there was a better tool for updating a small number of servers. Your answer was just what I needed. Thanks again!
