srvadmin update failed from 9.1.0 to 9.2.0

Hello,

I am working on getting a system deployed with Cent 6 for testing to see if I get the same behavior. While waiting on that, does OpenManage seem to work normally if you uninstall 9.1 and install 9.2 cleanly? A clean install is one of the first steps we try when having update issues.

Even if I try to make a clean installation of 9.2 the packages smbios-utils-bin and lbsmbios won't be installed. Instead the system shows that the packages are not required and replaced by without an alternativity.

smbios-utils-bin is part of the srvadmin-omilcore package or a dependency?

If it is just a dependency maybe you can use --nodeps during rpm -erase

I will have to wait for one week to get a deeper look in it because i hadn't the time to look it up in this maintanence. So as far as I remember the main problem is that even with --nodeps the packages which should be required(dependencies) are replaced.

Even in the manual it is mentioned as a OM Dependant package. ( https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/openmanage-server-administrator-v92_install-guide2_en-us.pdf page 46) If I search for the dependencies in the repo-version of srvadmin-omilcore 9.2 it seems that there is no dependency with smbios-utils-bin.

I will try to get the dependencies of the version 9.1 and update the post.

EDIT:

I looked up the dependencies for 9.1.

9.1 needs:

- smbios-utils-bin

9.2 needs:

- dmidecode

So the only difference in 9.1 to 9.2 is the package smbios-utils-bin is exchanged with dmidecode. Maybe that already helped me. I will investigate a bit more. Maybe you have some more ideas.
