Unable to get BIOS version information

All,

I am using the following command to extract BIOS version from a server;

omreport chassis bios

On another server this command works a treat, but I am receiving an err msg stating;

Unable to get BIOS version information.

How can I resolve this problem? I am a newbie to OpenManage - do I have to reinstall the client instrumentation?

I am using Server Administrator 1.2.1.A - the GUI doesn't display this information either.

Thanks in advance.

I suspect that you are running an older version of OpenManage Server Administrator. If that is so, then I would suggest that you download the latest version of OMSA(Dell OpenManage Server Administrator). Go to the downloads section of this website and put in your service tag and select Systems Management for the download type. Uninstall the existing version of OMSA that is on your server. You can use the user documentation on this support site to find out how to uninstall. Reply back if an older version isn't the problem.
