using a parallel file transfer cable

I am trying to get all the pictures I have stored on my laptop to put on our desktop. I don't have a CD burner on my laptop, as I know that would be easier.

I have manage to appropriately connect the cable and set up my laptop. The laptop says on the "Direct Cable Connection - Status:  Waiting to connect via Parallel cable on LPT1.  Is the guest computer running?

I have established the Network connection on the guest computer, however when I go to connect it asks for a user name and password, and Domain name. I have tried my email address and password, and my husbands as well. (We are the only two).  but it keeps saying it cannot verify user name and password. And I have no idea what domain name to use!!

I understand that I need to be signed in as a Computer Administrator, and I am.  Is there a different User name and password that I should be using???? Perhaps one that my husband set up initially when he set up the computer?????? He has no idea what that Might be.

Can you please help me. What seemed to be an easy task has turned into a nightmare!! I would appreciate you help.  Hopefully before I lose my pictures of my son, on the laptop, it seems to be on the fritz!!!!

Thanks so much!!
