Using Open Manage Array Manager from the MMC?

Hi,

I'm more used to Windows 2000 Server and older versions of the OM software. My old servers invoke the array manager from within the MMC when I click on Disk Management. Is there any way to get that with WS2003 R2 SP2 and the current Open Manage software. I can't find the "MMC" folder on the installation disc.

Thank you, Jeff! I suspected as much, but I wanted to be sure.

The older version was kind of elegant, but I guess I'll have to get used to the changes.

Thanks for posting!  Array Manager does not support the newer PERC firmware and drivers, and most of the servers that did support it should be upgraded to a more recent version of OMSA.  Array Manager replaced the Windows Disk Manager, but its replacement, the OpenManage Storage Manager is part of OpenManage Server Administrator, and it leaves the Windows Disk Manager in place.  Thus if your servers are upgraded properly you should launch the Windows Disk Manager from the MMC, and OMSA from the desktop icon or by typing https://localhost:1311.

I forgot to mark your reply as a solution. I've been out of the loop, only dropping in occasionally during my illness over the last three years. I see that the forum has moved along, as well as PERC controllers and their drivers and OpenManage software. I'm going to get a chance to brush up over the next couple of months because I'm designing an entire new production domain.

Thank you again. That reply was precise and concise.
