Web interface alternative DRAC

Question

I would like to know if there is an alternative then the DRAC web interface to access the console of the different blades in a 1955 chassis? I find the web interface very temperamental, can I use a Remote KVM software like the one for the Dell 2161DS. I'm having all kinds of issue due to the certificates and Java. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but this web site on the DRAC is very slow and I need to try things several times before it works.   I was also unable to put a working certificate on the KVM switch inside the DRAC. I was successful with the DRAC certificate, but with the KVM Switch it does not work because when you click on the like to start the remote console or the media part it opens a new window but direct to the IP of the KVM switch, not the DNS name. And the certificate is made under the DNS name. I tried to create a certificate with the IP address, but once the certificate uploaded the pop up window just shuts down as soon as it's invoked.   If I could have a windows software to do the media redirection and the console it would be so much better.   Thanks

Thank you for posting. The only alternative to the DRAC/MC console redirection is the RACADM cli. You can use RACADM cli to connect to the DRAC/MC, but its console redirection feature is limited to text-mode only. You might be able to use the KVM for the PE1955.   Provided are the user's guides for the DRAC/MC and KVM for the PE1955. Give them a quick read through and let us know how it goes. Another option you have is to post your question in the PowerConnect Forum. They deal with PowerConnect Devices and Blade Servers and Chassis.
