On the local server, please be sure to perform a custom install/upgrade of the Managed System.  If you are installing from the 3.8 cd/download then choose Storage Management.  If you are installing from the 4.1 cd/download then choose Array Manager.  Then the Array Manager Console should be installed on the local server. 

Also, check that the Raid Controller driver and firmware are at the latest Dell versions.  These downloads can be found at http://support.dell.com.

If you are still having difficulty please reply with the Raid Controller driver, firmware, Array Manager version and installation steps.

hi,
first,thanks for your answer.I tried storage management as you have
mentioned,but i still have the same problem.
well,her is my device details:
perc 4/sc raid controller...and lsilogic 1020/1030 ultra320 scsi
adapter.
Also,i purchased this server 2 weeks ago,then i think all the drivers
are up to date,am i wrong?

I would definitely check the Raid controller driver and firmware levels just to be sure they are the latest.  They also must be the Dell driver(s) to function properly with the Dell OpenManage software.
