7130 mobile broadband WWAN?

Does anyone knows how to make the mobile broadband function work for this device? I installed the driver, but the device does not show up anywhere..

Mobile broadband setting
Turning On/Off mobile broadband
1. Swipe from the right edge of the display to access the Charms bar.
2. Touch Settings →Change PC settings → Networks → Airplane mode.
3. Swipe Mobile broadband icon left or right to turn mobile broadband on or off.

Thank you for your attempt, sir, but I did the basics before posting.

There is no "mobile broadband" icon in the either Airplane Mode or elsewhere in the settings. It does not even seem to show up in Device Manager.

I get Wireless, Bluetooth and NFC options, but no Mobile broadband.. There seem to be no separate option in Bios either.

Any other hints, or should I conclude this component to have been DoA?

Maybe they sent you the wrong device? Only one model has that.

I have the 7130 8gb, 256 ssd, i5 4300y, and it does have the sim card slot. The wwan device does not seem to appear in device manager at all, even after installing drivers. So should I presume it faulty you think?

There is no WWAN card shipped with the 7130... the functionality is for future tech (TM).

There are some threads (here and other forums) that discuss this -- the type of slot is only supported by only one  WWAN card, sold by Lenovo for a lot of $$, so I think the delay is due to getting more of these cards on the market.
