Dell Latitude 10 + Windows 8.1 = Display issues?
Hi all
I have a Dell Latitude 10 ST2 with Atom Z2760 processor, updated to official public 8.1 today and getting Intel Display driver stopped responding and has recovered type issues from standby with the Intel 9.14.3.1160 drivers which came through via Windows update but are dated from 6/16/2013 !!
Both Intel and Dell have no other updates even though we are all updating to 8.1 today and I have tried using stock Microsoft ones ( Substitute character removed as per TOU>) and can't get anything to work right - help?

Hi again, there's good news it seems. Today my tablet received a new update to the graphics driver through Windows Update. It is version 1176 (Nov 8) and it looks like the wake up issue is gone. It remains to be seen if it's stable in every way. Cheers!

dell xps 10 staying strong no issues yet! may I suggest try hdmi port and see if it connects to the tv external display. or just reset the tab power button plus volume button.

I seem to have now resolved this via an unofficial slightly newer Intel graphics driver that I found on the net but I do not take ANY responsibility for any issues it might cause! :emotion-7:
What I did was manually searched for and installed the graphics driver from the Intel Driver Pack (Atom Z2760) from the bottom of http://www.station-drivers.com/index.php/listes-constructeurs/24-intel-chipset the 9.14.3.1165 from that as opposed to the previous 9.14.3.1160.
Hopefully one of Dell / Intel / Microsoft will actually get a stable set made public properly ASAP as the 8.1 RTM and preview versions are months old and on release we are left with unacceptable issues like this!

Same issue here. I downgraded to 9.14.3.1160 (by reinstalling the driver pack from dell) and issue still persist.

I went into Device Manager > Display Adapters > Right clicked on the Intel or Microsoft one then Update Driver Software and finally Browse my computer for driver software to locate the one you have.
NOTE: I unistalled the Intel one first AND ticked remove the driver and restarted to prevent any issues with the above.

Yes normally I would not get such a driver off the web but this was causing me such inconvenience I thought it was worth the risk as I could just search from within device manager inside the graphics driver and pick the exact inf to use and it didn't work just uninstall it.
Interestingly Windows update is still offering me an Intel driver to install which I haven't and I have heard from others with the same Atom Z2760 in a ThinkPad Tablet 2 that they have had no issues so maybe it's related to the Dell A07 bios I also flashed?

I looked on the Lenovo, Acer and Asus sites for the drivers for their equivalent tablets, but all their drivers are older than Dell's. So there must be something different somewhere, maybe the bios.
BTW, I'm an old hacker, but Windows 7 and 8 have generally been so smooth I haven't had to do this in awhile. Is it still right click on the .inf and say install?
Thanks.

Thanks for the tip. I'm reluctant to try something off the net, but there doesn't seem to be another option. I went to Intel's site where they sometimes have update drivers or software before the OEM's, but for the Atom we have, it says drivers are only available from the manufacturer.
I second your request that Dell gets an official Win 8.1 graphics driver posted.

Tried and did not work. This is frustrating seeing as this is supposed to be an official release. I also noticed that PC settings has horizontal black bars instead of text.

I tried installing that other display driver and it didn't help. It was a little like peeling back an onion. I uninstalled the previous driver and it showed one from May. Uninstalled that and it showed one from 2006 which I guess is the generic one. Then installed the newer one but the problem was, if anything, a little worse. Putting back the official Dell driver now and guess I'll have to wait for a new one from Dell.

BTW, I don't blame Dell for this. I got the bug and installed the 8.1 RTM release earlier this week. It was posted on TechNet in September. It worked flawlessly until yesterday.
When the 8.1 was released for everyone to upgrade their Windows 8 installations, a Windows update appeared for my tablet. It was a couple of hundred megs. After installing that, there were lots of updates for apps that hung, saying "pending." I found a fix for that somewhere on the MSFT boards. It wasn't til last night that I noticed the video driver problem, so it must have been something in the updates that did it. Dell probably didn't have it much before we got it.

I was having the same issue on my lat 10 after the 8.1 update.
I went into device manager to update driver and then clicked "browse my computer..." then clicked "let me pick from a list..." Choose the driver version 9.14.3.1130 (1/8/2013). Rebooted and have not had the driver crash coming out of sleep so far. It was crashing every single time before.
While having the driver problem after 8.1 update I was running driver version 9.14.1160 (6-16-2013)

Mine has still not exhibited the driver crash since downgrading to the version 9.14.3.1130 driver. Glad it seems to be working for you as well.

Thanks for the tip. While on ftp.dell.com looking for the old driver I found that a new bios had been released a few days ago. That made me hopeful that that was the fix, but didn't see any difference after flashing it. I finally found the driver pack you referred to and attempted to uninstall the resent on before installing the one you did but that was like playing whack a mole. Every time I restarted out would just install a different one of the several drivers I had tried. I finally did what you did and just browsed to the folder where I had extracted the old driver pack and told it to use the inf. It does seem to have fixed the problem. Thanks.
For anyone else interested in trying this, the old driver file is Intel_CLV_installer_PR7_A05_CRT47_ZPE.exe and it's available on ftp.dell.com if you drill down here http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/Product/latitude-10-tablet?driverId=CRT47
Extract the components into a folder and then use the browse method sconnolly described to find the file 50907.inf in the drivers folder. Windows should then install the driver and you'll be asked to restart.
I imagine the old driver is missing some optimizations or bug fixes but I haven't encountered anything bad yet. I suppose it will do for the moment.
