Dell Latitude 12 5285 battery replacement
hi there!
i bought a refurbished 5285 tablet recently. it is doing its job pretty well, but i am looking for a replacement battery now. i found a few different models but i am little bit confused now wich one will fit and wich will work best.
basicly there are 3 different types around the web.
1. J0PGR with 7,6Volts, 5250mAh and 42Wh
2. 1WND8 with 11,4Volts, 2622mAh and 31,5Wh
3. K5XWW with 7,6Volts, 7500mAh and 60Wh
mine seems to have the 42Wh battery, at least powercfg /batteryreport (commandline) measures out designed capacity at 41Wh.
the 31,5Wh battery seems to be for higher power output with shorter runtime from wich i know dell was offering it as an option at the time they where selling the 5285 in their online store. im not 100percent sure, but thats what i guess. feel free to correct me if i am wrong.
but my main interest is on the 60Wh battery. if this is legit, it would be a huge upgrade because i want to have long runtime with decent power. dont want to push the i7 to its limits, because i dont want to have the fan spinning all the time.
theese are mainly sold on ebay from china sellers. i know. there is a lot of relabeling going on these days. but just because it comes from china doesnt mean this is isnt a good battery for this device. so, does anyone here have any experience with this parts? i already contacted the seller to get a little bit more information about it, because on ebay they are showing two completely different parts in their pictures. see here: link
obviously the one with the dell logo on it has different mounting patterns, but the second picture from the back of the part is the same pattern like the on 31,5Wh and 42Wh batteries.
So what are your thoughts, is it worth it? do you already have experience with swapping batteries on this device? wich one would you choose?
i will update this as soon i got messaged from the chinese seller with information about 60Wh akku.
best regard, Andreas!

Did you ever end up trying the 60wh battery? It looks like it's the same physical size, but unsure.

I think you must choose for the one that is with the same voltage rating with the original battery to avoid overvolatge or undervoltage that could cause damage to your laptop. Then the Power Capacity would then be optional which one you prefer.
