Dell Venue 11 keyboard turns off the tablet??

Hello, I have been having some problems with the travel keyboard with embedded battery I bought for my Dell Venue 11. I noticed when I connect it to my tablet, it will just shut down my tablet and I will lose anything i was working on. I also noticed that when the keyboard is connected, it will randomly in the middle of me using my tablet shut it down.

is it just a faulty keyboard or is this a problem i can fix? Help would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like refreshing the contacts. Learning from that I have cleaned the pins on the keyboard part and the contacts on the tablet part with some regular alcoholic PC cleaning fluid. Guess what, it's working again. Thanks!

Edit: after two days the problem reappeared. Shuts down erratically making the thing entirely unusable. It must be some contact issue or a degrading component somewhere, but not a battery fault. When it's working, it's working all right.

I'm so disappointed.

Can confirm @Darek208 solution worked for me also. But there is a catch, My keyboard and touchpad is working fine but keyboard battery is not detected anymore by windows.

It was working fine before but suddenly started having this problem today when the tab being disconnected works fine but whenever keyboard is attached tab would abruptly shut down. Its like windows has problems shifting the power to the second keyboard battery or something.

Actually didn't work. I had to open the keyboard and remove the battery pins as the last resort.

Just came here to report the same issue.

After 5 years still no support from Dell. The suggested workarounds regarding the firmware are not working as reported by dozens of tech-savvy users.

What's going on Dell? Are you just going to wait until you can claim the product is too old for support?

This is clearly a serial error.
