Dell Venue 11 Pro 7130 - Multiple issues

Hi, I'm posting this here to see if others have experienced any or all of the same issues I'm having.


First the history:

- Purchased (online) a Dell Venue 11 Pro tablet on 12/20/13.

- Device (#1) shipped and was delivered around 1/4/14.  Upon startup I was not prompted by any 'setup' screen and instead was brought to the Windows 8.1 desktop and signed in as 'ATS' user.  Contacted Dell support and they needed to ship me a new device as the one in my possession was never configured and did not have a recovery partition.  (side note: there was sensitive server ip / password info on the device apparently for Dell/Pegatron server for testing/configuration.

- Device (#2) shipped a week later and I received it on 1/17/14 (two days ago).  This device was seemingly configured correctly and I was able to complete the initial setup process HOWEVER I have experienced the following issues (all in just 2 days remember) and the device is completely unusable.

     ISSUES:

  1. 'Ghost Touch' ()
  2. Freezing during typing or simply browsing (occassionally)
  3. Screen goes blank (a few times)
  4. Tablet randomly shuts down (regardless of being on AC or battery power).
  5. Upon startup I will begin to enter password and device shuts down.

**  The shutdowns have made the device unusable as they happen quite literally minutes apart and I can not often even get to open a browser or application.


My plan after all this is to simply return the two devices and purchased accessories for a full refund but I wanted to hear of any success stories if anyone else has experienced these issues and been able to resolve them either with or without Dell support.


I have never had such an utterly horrid experience by simply trying to buy a new computer.

I get the very same with the keyboard plugged in... lock ups, screen behavior as shown... makes the tablet useless.

I just went through the other main thread on the Pro11 .. I manually applied the latest Intel video (manually), updated keyboard touchpad firmwarer, updated RST, unchecked the 'link' in the RST, uninstalled the Realtek drivers .. it has been 2 hours of solid use with no lockups while using  the keyboard.

Thanks for the response.  I'm very surprised that no one representing Dell has commented on my thread post.  They either don't care or don't have any resolution.  Both of which should support my decision to return all purchases and cancel order.

Same thing with my dell venue 11 pro. Looks like I made a bad choice buying this piece of <ADMIN NOTE: Substitute character removed as per TOU> . Shame on you dell.:emotion-12:
