Dell Venue 11 Pro 7130 screen resolution reported
I attempted to install an InstallAware packaged application on my Venue and it failed the resolution test saying that the screen resolution needed to be 1024x768 or greater. Since it is 1920x1080 I was a little puzzled. I had the application developer make me an InstallAware install package that just tested the screen resolution and displayed what it found. It appears that the Venue 11 Pro is reporting a resolution of 1280x720. I also tried browsing to http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com and it also reported 1280x720.
I have been working with Dell support an have not gotten an answer so far. I have update my BIOS to the latest and all the latest screen drivers.
Can anyone with a Dell Venue Pro 11 7130 i5 please try the web site above and let me know if yours reports the same screen resolution?

It appears that the issue is with the Intel video driver. I have been told to keep an eye out for video driver updates and apply when available. I will post a reply if this ever gets corrected.

Thank you for checking into this and letting me and others know what you found out. I will keep me eyes peeled for a new driver as well.

Has anyone solved this yet? I upgraded to new video drivers and now get 1920x1080 in IE, but nothing else. It's not that it's 'wrong', when it's full screen its OK, but as an IT guy, I need real estate on RDP and SSH.... and this is robbing me from that.

I have not. I keep an eye out for new video drivers but mine is still reporting 1280x720.

This also fails to work properly on my desktop (it is telling me 1845x1153 when I am actually running 2560x1600). I assume this is something to do with the API on that webpage in combination with Intel's drivers. Let me check with our graphics engineering team on this.
What is the actual problem that you are having with the tablet?

I don't really have a problem with my tablet. I was just not able to install a Windows application that used the InstallAware install package. The installer checked for a minimum screen resolution of 1024x768 and the Dell Venue 11 Pro 7130 reported back 1280x720 so I was not able to install the application. I have checked with Windows Surface Pro users as well and it has the same issue. As stated in the original post I had the developer create an InstallAware file that just checked and reported screen resolution and it reported the 1280x720. Additionally, I searched for a web site that checked screen resolution and found the one included in the post.

I've found exactly the same problem on my dell venue 11 pro 7140. Are the advertisements saying it supports 1920x1080 false? should I be looking at returning it for a refund?
I'm fairly concerned this misleading behaviour from Dell has now made it through more than one generation of device.

For the most part I do not have problems displaying 1920x1080 content I just had a problem with the resolution reported for an installer. I was actually able to get past that by setting the screen resolution to 1024x768 and was able to install the software. I like my venue 11 pro and would only consider replacing it with a SurfacePro 3. I also asked for someone to check out the Surface Pro and it had the same issue with reporting a lower resolution than the display was set to and able to display.
