Dell Venue 8 Pro -- Light Bleed

I wanted to ask if this sort of light bleed is normal and expected in the DV8P.

What do you think, folks? The photo was taken in a nearly dark room with the device showing a black photo in the IE metro browser at full brightness. I've heard IPS screens sometimes have light bleed, but this is noticeable at normal brightness levels, too. Should I put up with it? Do you guys have to?

Thanks all!

Gabe,

I have noticed the same issue, especially around the corners.  It is most noticeable when the device is first booting (on the black Dell screen), and I normally do not see it unless there is a fair amount of black around the edges while either watching a movie, playing a game, etc.  I have noticed this same type of bleed on other devices (TV's, monitors, etc.), but it varies be device / manufacturer.

To help minimize the bleed, I have adjusted the brightness on the screen and set it to auto-dim based on the room lighting.  It is to the point now that I don't notice it most of the time, unless I am actively looking for it.  Based on what I can tell, this is not a defect of the device and not something that would be covered / fixed under warranty, but I could be wrong.
