Problems after Streak 2.2.2 upgrade
Is anyone else experiencing this? A couple weeks ago I got the notification that the 2.2.2 update/upgrade was available (I've been using 2.2/318 build for some time now--very happy with that), so I downloaded it and it was great. Except now every day or two it completely gets messed up. First applications start crashing (force close message), then when I turn it off and reboot, I get this really great message on top of the Dell logo during startup:
"/system/bin/e2fsck -y /dev/block/innersd0p6
File system check returned status 1024, e2fsck status was 4
Please send this unit to software development for debugging.
Reformatting..."
Then I get the fresh, new Android screen, have to set up accounts and apps all over... Then I start the countdown until it happens again. If I can go back to the 318 build I'll happily do that, otherwise any suggestions?
Happy Streak owner since Dec 2010, not so happy since April 22, 2011.

Hey,
The exact same thing happened to me too. The first day I had the phone it apparently caught it's own virus from an unofficial dell update?! and then this happened last week. Kind of sucks. I lost all my stuff-contacts, msgs, songs, files, etc. And my phone always would empose a 'force shut down' screen...
Hopefully doesn't do this again because they replaced the phone. I think it will but...
Goodluck

**Update** no solution, I finally had enough and called Dell support. They're sending a new unit...hopefully my story has its happy ending with this.

Did you have to send in old unit before they forward the new one

Just got off the phone--they send a refurb unit to replace your unit, you use your existing battery, SD and SIM cards. Included with the bundle is info and material to send your busted phone back.

I hope all your new device goes well - They sent me a new one after mine shut down and reset the settings, went all good until that 'update software' notification came - sent it away beacause it started freezing, forcing shut down, ects...I sent it away again for repair and got a new one. When the salesperson tried turning it on infront of me... it didn't.... so now, once again, it has been sent away... I haven't had this phone for like two months in total fml....

I got a 31 baseband as replacement for my 00 baseband. So no 2.2.2 for me. I'm planning to update by hand with official update for baseband 00 but I'm worried about 2.2.2 being corrupted from source...
Did any of you guys update yours again?

On the refurb unit that Dell sent me, I still have the update notification--I'm not planning on downloading/applying that.

ok, updated to 2.2.2 baseband 00 (the one I was already running on previous phone). So far the internal SD test turns out OK!! (engineering mode)

Had the exact same think happen to me. I received my original Streak in January.
Once this resetting problem occurred, I contacted Dell and they sent me a brand new unit. I think I was lucky, because they ran out of refurbished units. They sent me the new one and I sent the old one back.
Customer Service was nice and understanding, but I'm not buying a phone from Dell again. I love the size, but the performance is not up to par (hardware acceleration not enabled by default).
I'll be moving on to the Galaxy S II devices whenever those come out. Great performance, just hoping for at least a 4.5 " screen.
