Streak LED flash operation
Can anyone describe how the LED flash is supposed to work? Mine is so feeble that it is essentially useless. On my previous phone (a Blackberry) - the LED's were so bright that looking into them actually hurt your eyes. On the Streak they are barely noticable. Is this normal? of is my phone defective. Thanks for any light on this subject (LOL)

hi rico! i do have the same problem but i figure it out.... so go to camera mode and check the flash icon and if its still grey out then got to setting icon on the very top....scroll down until you see camera settings and defual settings...then high light or choose restore to defautls...thats it! close the camera then open it again...then hopefully its working...mine is working now....
my only problem with the camera is the button...if you try it to press it to bring up the camera or open up the camera it wont...i have to do it on my screen or use the icon to do it....

Say WHAT!?! That actually WORKED! Now, how in THEEEE world did you figure that combo out? I can take pics again with flash! THANK YOU! ! !

would you please help me?
i have problem with the Led Flash Light , actually it is unusually make my picture so bright specially in night and dark place it seem the light has reflect into the shutter :(
it cause that i never try my camera in night anymore.
would you please help me about the problem.tnx

Sounds like your settings.Have you played around withe the brightness setting and tried setting the contrast to a darker setting?

actually no , but the problem only appear when i`m trying to take a picture at night or any dark place(just like bar in the night ) such places that have low light . when i use LED Flash my picture become strange look like the flash light glitter straight into the camera the picture become so light with real bad quality.
look at this picture. you`ll find what i mean. i took this picture with default setting of camera and flash light.but the place is still dark (even around my self) and the photo is not clear and visible enough.

Oh man, I see what you mean. Have your Streak always taken pics like that? Have you updated versions 2.2 before?

my device get out with froyo 2.2 i didnt update the device whatever its still so laggy :( i wish dell support release 2.3 or 3.0 for streak 5 im really tired of 2.2 its work just like slow motion specially dell stage and alot of force close
but
for your question actually YES. I WAS NEVER LUCKY TO TAKE A GOOD PIC AT NIGHT.

I dont know if this will help you or not but I would try a factory reset then as a last resort try reloading the os same version.
1 Do a backup of what you want to keep, then do a factory reset.
2 After your Streak has been reset/restored. Don't install anything extra at all
3 Try your camera and video and see if anything cleared up
4 If so, then restore things backed up, but I would do it one at a time until I notice my device getting sticky again
"if the factory reset doesny work"
1. Get online and locate a copy of the apk file that matches your current device system
2. Reinstall the system file . Will be a few minutes. But its worth it
Only drawback is to be sure you use a copy of the apk that is for YOUR phone and current version.

hello 1006corp,
As for the camera settings :
Brightness : 2
Contrast : -2
Picture quality : Superfine or fine
Scene Mode : Night
Anti banding: Auto
White Balance
Daylight
Flash mode : ON
Hopefully this helps...are you running 2.2.1? or 2.2.2?
im also running the 2.2 and have no problem with my camera...
well, you can do what rico suggest or do this and try it out...or you might also download apps for the camera which the led light turns on at all times while taking pictures just like taking videos....
For the Dell stage...you can always download apps like GO Launcher EX or ADW launcher...which is more faster and you can customize it yourself....for me i used the GO Launcher EX and its free too...
anyways, too bad Dell already stop their production or facing out the dell strea :(
so this might be the last update they have.....but you can always uodate 2.2 to gingerbread or to honeycomb at your own risk....but i might be updating it to gingerbread as my friend updated it manually and it really runs smooth and with out problem......
I still love my Dell Streak and always do LOL!!!
