Venue 10 Pro external display + drivers

I'm considering buying a Venue 10 Pro 5056. I see that it has a mini-HDMI port.

I have a Dell P2314T touchscreen monitor. Would I be able to use the touchscreen on the monitor if I plugged the monitor into either the mini-HDMI port (with adapter) or via the USB-C dongle that provides DP output?

Thanks,

Hi qman777

Thank you for reaching out to Dell Community Forum.

Yes, you can connect an external monitor using the Micro-HDMI connector. You can also use a USB Type-C dongle (HDMI or VGA) to connect another display.

Please private message us the service tag of the system along with your email id, so that we can check on the configuration.

(Note: please don't mention the service tag or email id on the public forum as it contains your personal information).

From a physical connector perspective, I understand there are ports available to connect the monitor. However, when I connected the Dell P2314T monitor to my Win10 PC, I needed to install drivers for the touchscreen to work. Would those same drivers work on a Win10 tablet (Dell Venue Pro 10 5056) running an Atom Processor? Or will the driver only work with a regular X86 CPU? Thanks

Hi qman777,

The P2314T should be able to work as long a USB 2.0 and above up-stream cable is connected between the Venue Pro 10 5056 and monitor. The same drivers will work with this system.

Any system that you connect this monitor to, should have a USB 3.0 port for the USB up-stream cable to work.
