Venue Pro 11 flip type cases

The DVP pro 11 has been out for quite sometime , yet no one is making a flip type cover for this device. Can this be due to low volume or low demand ? It looks like I may have to settle for a sleeve . A book type flip cover is so much easier to use for home and travel .

That's for the 8 inch. There's plenty available for that size but nothing for 11 inch tablet.

I am also waiting for a good folding case but who knows if they even come out. Talked to one manufacture (They have Dell Venue 8 Pro cases) and they said no plans for 11Pro because of the 3 different sizes and difference  locations of the ports and buttons. They basically worry about returns if wrong item was ordered. Goes on my nerves always need to hold the system. Not sure whom to blame here. Maybe Dell for having 3 designs for the same product.

There is one listed at Amazon but reviews are not that good.

All we can do is wait and hope.

Seen that one as well but do believe not usable for a Windows 8 tablet. The framing is right at the actual screen which would make it almost impossible to use side, bottom up or top down swipes with your fingers or even a stylus. These swipes are essential for Windows 8.
I am waiting for something that just covers the edges or a case with hardback cover like this one for Dell Venue 8 (leaves the whole tablet front open).

I bought the Venue 11 Baytrail in December and have been watching religiously for a case.

I purchased this beginning of January to tide me over Poetic(TM) Slimbook Case for Samsung ATIV smart PC 700T 11.6-inch Tablet Black http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Slimbook-11-6-inch-Manufacturer-Warranty/dp/B00BHNO1K4   Looks like an earlier poster saw found one for the Venue 11, looks suspiciously close to what I purchased.

It fits somewhat, definitely protects the case while traveling which is important. Kind of like putting a trash bag on a Ferrari. I put it in upside down (windows button up) so I can access the microusb and the usb 3.0 port, power switch accessible from bottom as well.

I can't believe we still do not have any, not one case, like the Venue 8's that protect and are slim. A bit distressing actually. Have even questioned the folks at Microcenter which is the only brick and mortar store (which I have seen besides the MS Store) which sells the Venue 11 Baytrail and they said they have not seen any cases either but have put provided feedback to Dell saying it is needed.

Wish Dell would offer a nice case or 2 at minimum. This is ridiculous.

I agree . I simulated the side swiping action by placing a piece of cardboard right up to the screen edge and side swiping is not possible. It looks like we need at least 1/4 spacing between the frame and the edge of the screen.... the more the better. Is there a place where we can all petition Dell to provide us a folding case for the DVP 11 ?

I got the Venue Pro 8 from Costco and it came with a REALLY nice folio case from Dell. They need to make this exact same case for the Venue Pro 11. What's really nice about it is doubles as a stand letting you adjust to multiple viewing angles. Really great for airplane viewing where the angle is dependent on the amount of room on the tray table and the position of the seat in front of you.

I just received this one : http://www.ebay.com/itm/for-Dell-Venue-11-PRO-5130-PU-Leather-Folio-Smart-Cover-Skin-Case-Black-/400678073345?pt=US_Tablet_eReader_Cases_Covers_Keyboard_Folios&hash=item5d4a463401 Fits the 5130 perfectly . All openings are in the correct locations. Only issue is that there is not enough screen clearance on both sides for effective side swipes. I may have to perform a bit of surgery to make larger cut outs like they did for the top and bottom screen edges.

Thanks for the heads up.  I've been watching that one because I could tell the openings were actually cut for the dvp 11.  If you perform the surgery will you report back how it works out?

I decided not to perform surgery on it. It seems to work fine for me as I have small fingers. The only time I use side swipe is to activate the charms bar. Most of the time I am in desktop mode and use the small Microsoft keyboard and a small mouse . Somehow I gravitate to desktop mode . I will surely use more touch screen when travelling ...too much bulk bringing the keyboard and mouse along . I am considering buying the stylus since the new version is supposed to very much better.

Which system do you have 5130, 7130 or 7139? they all have a different layout.
And how are the swipe functions working> I have looked multiple times at that case but it sure looks like that there is no space to do finger side swipes.

Sorry for not specifying the model. This is for the 5130. There is about 1/4" open space on all 4 sides for finger swipes.
