XPS 10 Battery Meter
My XPS 10 Battery Meter never worked. The icon shows the empty battery and tapping on it (in the desktop view) pops up a message saying "Unknown remaining". Re-installing Win 8 RT showed a full battery icon, but upon restarting the tablet the empty battery icon and the associated "Unknown remaining" came up again. Removing and re-detecting the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery in Device Manager->Batteries did nothing as well. Any ideas as how this can be approached?

Does your device work on battery power or just with AC attached? Do you have just the tablet or the dock as well and if both, does the same thing happen when docked? By re-installing Windows 8 RT, I assume you mean that you did a "reset my PC"? Please also check for any Windows updates, install and then do a restart to see if that resolves.
