EMC Unity System drive ownership
Hello,
We have Unity300. I have been wondering if we can change the system drives from first 4 drives to another drives ? I am asking this because we don't want to use the Flash disks for system drives. Currently, system drives are in flash drives and we have limited space and every MB in flash is precious for us. I want to transfer system drives from SSDs to HDDs. Is it possible to change the ownership of the system drives ?
Thanks

Hi @iemrep
Thank you for your post.
After reviewing this situation further, unfortunately the task in question is generally not supported.
However I would recommend contacting your Dell EMC Account Team or Representative, as they may be able to provide further options on how to perform this task.
I hope that this information is useful, however if you require further assistance, please let us know by replying to this thread.

Hello Ricardo,
Thanks for sharing the information. I have been looking at the documents and i have found the following thing;
Copy data in vault drives (svc_copyto). The example of usage of the command is; svc_copyto -sd 0_1_2 -dd 0_0_3
With this command, we can transfer the existing data from one disk to another disk. But there is a limitation that the destination source can only be first 4 disks in DPE which means system drives. If the opposite transfer exists, i think copying existing data from first 4 drives to different type of disks can be done.
I am going to contact Dell EMC Technical Team and keep this topic updated.
