intra SP file system migration options ?
Hi, posing a question.
Moving from a VNX to unity.
On VNX it was possible to migrate a file system(fs), between data movers by simply unsharing fs, unmounting fs from old data mover and mounting to new data mover and resharing fs.
This was done typically to balance cpu load across data movers.
On Unity, this does not seem to be the case. Once a fs is created. Its associated with a SP and cannot be moved. Can it be migrated between SP using internal migration tools if more than disk pool is created or is an external tool required to manage a migration ?

On Unity, a file system runs on the same SP as its NAS Server. There are no "data movers" any more. If you change the owner SP of the NAS Server, the associated filesystems also change.
If your VNX File runs in a VDM you might be able to use the migrate tool to migrate from VNX to Unity with minimal disruption.
