I've followed the instructions on www.emc.com/getunity to request a license key with no luck page says I am not connected - check Network - no idea what's that Thanks

I just want to tell for community version is only available when you are a partner customer due to my case, its solved when you ask the sales in your region to help you generate license uuid. So keep learn kudos!!! Thanks

Yeah I confirm this assertion: i've done the same thing with my Dell's contacts and after some days they have generated me a license.

I got the same issue with exactly the same errors. After trying out every discussed version, I finally sent a mail to our sales responsible at Dell and ask for a license file. I think, this is a really bad behaviour of Dell. Instead of fixing that issue, they just ignore it. That's not the way to deal with customers - and who else is buying this stuff? For sure not me for my living room... So, please Dell, just fix this issue! It's now over two years in open state - isn't that enough? Thanks!

Hello MastaMagoo,

We are working on fixing this issue as we are aware that many customers are affected by the site not being up and working. I am actively checking and trying to get a resolution to this issue.

Hello,

I can confirm that this is still an issue.  I'm evaluating Unity for a new project/purchase.  It doesn't look good to Dell for this eval/community edition to not work properly.  Do we need to go to another vendor?  This doesn't give me much hope in the product if they cannot fix a simple website issue for over 2 years!

Hello Bobert03,

We have previously fixed the site a few different times over the last 2 years.  We are working to resolve the latest issue that has caused the site to not be available.

Hello Salar Sarchali,

Have you tried the following steps to try to get your license.

The workaround for getting the UnityVSA Community Edition trial license is to open a Service Request with License Operations.

Licensing Service Request for UVSA CE Trial License:

Customer (internal or external) opens a Licensing Service Request.

1.           There are 3 ways to open a Service Request:

  • By visiting https://dell.to/3v4fF6V and using the Live Chat. The Chat Team will assist the requester to create a Ticket.
  • A Service Request can be opened on the Support Site by selecting "Create a Service Request" and providing all the relevant information required to address the request.
  • Contact the Dell EMC Support Line by calling 800-782-4362, option 4, option 4, (at any time) and they will assist you and/or create an SR on your behalf.

2.           Information needed in the Service Request:

  • Software Part Numbers – 456-110-674    UnityVSA CE 4TB=IC
  • Quantity/Capacity – Qty 1

3.           Machine information: UUID

4.           Site Info

5.           If this is a Dark Site, please inform Licensing of this

6.           Reason for trial license = UVSA CE Trial License Website is down

Still, there is a problem in getting the Unity VSA community license via online. I have logged a support case but no response so far

Hello VigneshKumarP,

We are still working to resolve the website issue.  If you can send me a private note with your SR# I can send it over to our license team to try & get you your license.

the way EMC Dell is handling this issue after 3 years of complaints, its absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable with  "We are working on fixing this issue as we are aware that many customers are affected". how can you expect the customer trust you when you can fix simple problem like this. ignoring every single right & simply wasting potential customers time. i have been a Storage administrator for around 10 years & had the experience of working with every storage vendors(hp, ibm , netapp,...), this the most disrespectful i have encountered sofar. if you don't want to provide license to new potential customers , simply just admit it , instead of dragging this for 3 years. i keep using potential customers , because after witnessing the way emc technical customer is handling this , there is no chance i would risk my business with such a behavior

  • By visiting https://dell.to/3CDW6XD and using the Live Chat. The Chat Team will assist the requester to create a Ticket.
  • A Service Request can be opened on the Support Site by selecting "Create a Service Request" and providing all the relevant information required to address the request.

Hi,
The online tool isn’t working, you need to call support.

Contact the Dell EMC Support Line by calling 800-782-4362, option 4, option 4, (at any time) and they will assist you and/or create an SR on your behalf.
Information needed in the Service Request:
Software Part Numbers – 456-110-674    UnityVSA CE 4TB=IC
Quantity/Capacity – Qty 1
           Machine information: UUID
           Site Info
If this is a Dark Site, please inform Licensing of this
Reason for trial license = UVSA CE Trial License Website is down
