Nas server joined to AD do not renew password automaticcaly

Hello All,

Between the NAS Server and the AD, the security department asks if it is possible to do as on "physical" Windows servers.

The principle is that each computer object must change its computer account password, it is a dealed directly between the machine and the AD.

Is it possible with a Unity nas server ?

Thanks

Gaëlle

    Hi,

Thanks for your question. I am not aware of anything that allows for the automatic password change, but it should be RFC2307 compliant. https://dell.to/3NEv5VX Which version of OneFS are you on?

sorry but RFC2307 has nothing to do with this - besides Unity doesnt run OneFS

and yes Unity NAS servers support changing the computer account password periodically.
Usually this is triggered by a GPO set by the domain controller - default should be 30 days

you could also configure via the srvpwd.updtMinutes parameter on Unity but I would recommend to first have your AD admins check that it isnt already working automatically
