Question about deleting an ESXi Host object on a unity system

My company has several ESXi hosts running VMs which use a unity system as storage. These hosts were connected to unity via FC protocol. I was experimenting with our unity system a while ago and added the vCenter of these hosts to unity under "Access" > "VMware" > "vCenters" which subsequently added those ESXi hosts under "Access" > "VMware" > "ESXi Hosts". The various VMs, datastores, initiators and initiator paths that these hosts already had were added to their new "ESXi host" objects.

Now I need to delete the vCenter and ESXi Host objects under "Access" > "VMware". However when I go to do so a warning message appears reading "Deleting this object will also delete any associated objects. Are you sure?". This seems to suggest the VMs, Datastores and initiator objects, which I don't want to delete.

Is there a way for me to delete these vCenter and host objects without affecting the objects that are associated with them? or maybe a way of disassociating them without actually effecting the connection?

Hello RusscsCarter,

Which Unity system do you have, and what is the current operating environment version that your unity is running?
