Unity 380 - Expand pool
Hello,
I have a doubt, I have a storage dell unity 380, which has a traditional type pool, tier performance raid 5 and with 10 disks currently.
My question is can I add 1, 2 or the amount of disks I want and keeping the total size, ie if I add 2 disks of 1 tb the pool will grow by 2 TB, or should I add a minimum of disks example 5?

Hello rocaflqu,
Traditional Pools require a minimum number of drives based on the RAID type in use, since you are using raid 5 you will need to add 5 drives at a time when expanding the pool. If you were using Dynamic pool then you can add 1 or 2 drives at a time.

Hi.
Thank you for your question.
How is the pool setup? Is it traditional or dynamic? If it is a synamic pool you should be able to remove a drive and replace it and wait for it to rebalance then do the next one. Dell Unity: Understanding Dynamic Pools (Mapped RAID) (Dell Correctable) | Dell US
