Question

Does unity support uid field being populated in AD and not requiring NIS

Background

NIS map files are generated from AD as an interirm step to remove NIS dependency.

Want to use unity using AD only for uid resolution rather than creating another NIS dependency.

sure we do

same as we did before in VNX and Celerra

you can see that in the directory service config in Unisphere

I would suggest to look at the Unity multiprotocol PDF manual and the Unity NAS white paper

Problem fixed, was searching for an incorrect AD field to find the uid.
