Unity VSA 4.1.2 admin password reset

Hi, I setup this Unity VSA couple of weeks ago and can not remember the admin password to connect from Unisphere/GUI. I've changed the default Password123#, so that is not longer valid.

However,  I have SSH/Console access using the service account. Is it any way to reset the admin password or create another user with admin role to then access the GUI ?

Does running the svc_intial_config will help ?

I could not find any CLI or SVC command to do it and there is not hardware reset on the VSA as the physical one.

Please advise

Thanks

Hi

Did this work for you first time?

I have followed the KB but it doesn't seem to reset the admin or service password.

This issue seems to be a feature of the VSA (community edition anyway). This is the second time I have had this problem, the last time i thought I had genuinely forgot the password so I redeployed a new VSA. This time I know I'm using the correct passwords. I'm also using a different version this time.

I really don't want to have to redeploy it again... :-(

Hi DJ, Yes it worked for me first time on my community edition VSA and did not want to re-deploy my lab.

I’ve also found other VSA white paper explain same procedure with additional screen shots (page 26).

I hope help to you.
