VSS Hardware Provider
Hi
I can't configure VSS Hardware Provider connection to Unity 380F on Windows Server 2025. When trying to connect to Unity, I get an error:
None of the disks in this system are from supported Storage systems
Re-run 'C:\Program Files\Dell EMC\Unity\VSS Hardware Provider\bin\RestCli.exe connect' after configuring LUNs to this host
UnityOS 5.5.0.0.5.259
VSSHardwareProvider 5.5.0.2450450

Hello Alex Ra,
Which error are you getting when trying to add VSS provider?

@DELL-Sam L
I changed the connection string and got a rather strange output:
C:\Program Files\Dell EMC\Unity\VSS Hardware Provider\bin>RestCli.exe connect -t Unity -i 10.101.0.231 -u admin
Enter Password:
Checking host registrations in Unity Storage IP:10.101.0.231, Serial:
This Host Name : SRV-BCKP-AUTO
This Host IP Addresses:
This host SRV-BCKP-AUTO was not found with any matching IP addresses on Storage System
The following hosts are found on Storage System
1. SRV-HVC2N1-AUTO
2. SRV-HVC2N2-AUTO
3. SRV-HVC2N3-AUTO
4. SRV-BCKP-AUTO
Select an entry for this host: [1 - 4]:Skipping Unity Storage IP:10.101.0.231, Serial:
deleting and re-adding srv-bckp-auto did not help
on the unity side, I don't have network addresses for hosts specified.

Hello Alex Ra,
What happens if you select #4? Based on the output it is finding the host. Are you able to get the ip address of the host?

@DELL-Sam L
The problem is that after entering the password, I get thrown into the command prompt and I can't select anything from the list.
I assume that the problem is related to Windows Server 2025, since I did not have such a problem on version 2022. Windows Server 2022 runs SRV-HVC2N*-AUTO

Hello Alex Ra,
I would say that you are correct that it is a 2025 issue, as 2025 is not showing as supported as of today.
