Happens when I setup and test a connection profile.

I hope you are doing well.
The vCenter team told me that since you got this error when trying to test the connection profile,t he first place to start is by doing this:
You should make sure you have a good network connection between the appliance and the host that he included in the connection profile. You can try to ping the host from the appliance to make sure.
