ESX running on pe 2950
HI,
We have purchased an additional 300*3GB drive that we have inserted into the slot on our Dell 2950 server but the new hard drive doesnt seem to show up under the storage list in the ESX server when click on the add addtional storage or run a rescan. I need to find a way of adding this addtional 300*3GB drive to our ESX server. The drives are currently setup on a RAID 5 and I see a single storage device (storage1) in the Virtual Infrastructure. Is there any way to add these new HDD on the same array or even in different array.
Thanks.

You first need the PERC controller to "see" this new drive before it can present it to ESX as additional storage to use.
Simpliest way is to reboot the machine and use CTRL-R to enter the PERC config and create a virtual disk on the new drive that ESX will be able to "see". Good tutorial here --> http://www.thegeekstuff.com/2009/05/dell-tutorial-create-raid-using-perc-6i-integrated-bios-configuration-utility/
If I've misinterpreted the question, please let me know and clarify. Thanks.
