Having to restart applicance every few days

Question

I am running appliance Dell_VC_Plugin.i686-1.0.1 in vCenter 4.1.0 Build 345043 with default RAM of 3.5 GB and 2 vCPUs. After a few days, the plug-in stops responding in vCenter at both the host level and Home/Management/Management Center level. If I restart the appliance, it will work for a few more days. I'm looking to see if anyone else has seen this, and what could I do to trouble shoot the issue. Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Try reserving the 3.5 GB RAM in the VM settings. Reserving RAM at startup will force the hypervisor to allocate the desired memory. By default it is ondemand memory allocation which can cause these kind of problems.

Thanks for the response. I reserved the 3.5 GB RAM in the VM and restarted it to make sure it was reserved. After a few days, it has the same behavior as first reported.
