Issues with ESX 3.5 and the MD3000i using CHAP Authentication

Seeing issues with an MD3000i (upgraded to the latest firmware) where trying to use CHAP in ESX causes the Storage Controller ESX is attempting to connect to, to reset continuously. I've tried reducing the IQN name to less thatn 30 chars to no avail.

Got a support call open with Dell but I'm hitting issues getting past Level1/2 at the moment

Anyone know of a workaroung?
