Question about saving reports and metrics
I need to move from 6.6.1 to 6.6.2 because I'm moving from the internal mysql db 6.6.1 to a external MSSQL DB 6.6.2.
My question is that, can I go into the 6.6.1 environment and save my custom reports and custom metrics using the fglcmd commands and re-import the reports and custom metrics back into my new 6.6.2 environment?
I know I can do that with dashboards with some success. I just want to be able to give the local support groups that created specifc reports for their area. The ability to save the reports and re-import them back into the new 6.6.2 environment without having to do everything from scratch.
Thanks ahead of time.
Al the UPS Guy.

Using the fglide bundle would make your life a lot easier, since it lets you bundle up, save off, and reload rules, derived metrics, registry variables, dashboards, custom reports, etc. all in a nice neat package, without using the command line.
It also makes version control easy, so you can develop on a test box, package up a new version, and then load it onto prod FMS boxes once it's ready to go.

Thanks for the info on the export/import of the custom dashboards. I’m still tweaking a couple of items. But I first made a module of the items I needed, reports and metrics used. The items talked about by Phil Feinberg.

Then used the fglide to make a cartridge. So far so good. But still testing. ,,,al

I wasn't aware you could export custom reports using the fglide and don't see it in the list when clicking on "add elements". That would be something I will need to look into.
Al - You can export/import all of your custom dashboards using the method you describe. We export daily for DR purposes using a shell script launched with a cron job.

Thanks for fixing this in the latest version.
