Adobe Animate CC to "replace" Flash in 2016

Animate CC [previously known as Flash Professional CC]  will become Adobe’s premier web animation tool in early 2016.

It's a mixed bag:   on the positive side, it will allow/encourage the use of [open-source standard] HTML5 content.   But on the negative side, it will continue to support the creation/use of Flash content:  "Animate CC will continue supporting Flash (SWF) and AIR formats as first-class citizens".   In particular, Adobe is now working together with Facebook to help ensure Flash gaming content on Facebook continues to run reliably and securely.

So regardless of the new name, Flash remains alive, will continue to have vulnerabilities, and will continue to be targeted by malware developers.
