I appreciate the help but I was just wondering why the adobe reader updater doesn't show that an update is available. Also I don't ever recall removing adobe before updating since it over writes.
Yes, Tom. I always seem to have that problem with Adobe products. Sometimes it takes them a while to get the updater working. Sun Java doesn't always update all of their links right away either. I wish these companies wouldn't tell us about important updates until they are ready. People go looking for them and then get confused when they can't be found.
Unclick the box for the Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition and free Google Toolbar
You will get security alert from the firewall click on ok or yes.

I haven't tried to update at the adobe site which I'm sure works fine,I was wondering if anyone else was having difficulty updating via the adove updater.Everytime I try it says no updated available.
"Also I don't ever recall removing adobe before updating since it over write
The way I do things are sometimes not the correct method and thats cause I'm lazy :smileywink: .I don't remove stuff unless it bothers me or I do a spring cleaning.
I suggested you remove it first cause its the proper method.Like the old saying,do as I say,not as I do.

I would remove the old version of Adobe Reader first before you install the new version.
1. Go to start menu.
2. Click on control panel.
3. Click on add or remove programs.
4. Click on Remove button for Adobe Reader 8.1.0
Unclick the box for the Adobe Photoshop
Album Starter Edition and free Google Toolbar
You will get security alert from the firewall click on ok or yes.
