"Ads by Google"

 
In my opinion, if anyone believes that the short list of website links below are intended as a means of solicitation and in violation of the DCF Terms of
Service, y'all had a tad too much "Gin 'n' Juice"...
 
-or maybe it's the attitude, state of mind, or the intolerance and prejudice of bigots?

Click the links, it seems they all use Ads by Goooooogle to help keep them," free like it's meant to be"

In my post I specifically used the word charity to avoid a “religion” war.  There are many non-religion charities.  There are also several non-Christian religions that believes in charity.

They put themselves in an impossible position, did you really expect an up front answer?

I know I am not a bigot because I am right on this issue; but they are bigots because they are unable to imagine how they might possibly have gone wrong.

I assume it's because giving to charity is considered a Christian thing to do. But you don't have to be a Christian to help people. You only need a heart.:smileywink:

it appears to me that a response to the original question posted by Chik has gotten lost in all this debate:
 
Please look at the following thread (which I believe takes things to the extreme):
The person responding (HC4) wanted to post a fix (s)he located at  BleepingComputer.com  .... but decided not to do so, because " Unfortunately, I cannot provide any links, as my post will be deleted (see the message Cease all infighting )."
 
The phrase  (which serves as a link to) " Ads by Goooooogle  " appears on the BleepingComputer web pages (so innocuously that many of the people originally posting in this thread completely overlooked it!).
 
BleepingComputer.com is a well-known, standard, anti-malware site.  
In fact, it is currently the recommended/linked site in the HJT forum sticky
(by BugBatter):
Is this sticky also to be deemed a violation of policy???
 
If we can't "link" people to BleepingComputer, or Atribune (&etc), then it would appear that either the " Ads by Goooooogle   " restriction needs to be reconsidered/clarified/modified... or else, the helpers hands will be so tied that we might just as well completely close down this forum.

SOLICITATION/SPAMMING
Any post containing information that suggests or implies advertising or promotions, junk mail, " SPAMMING", chain letters, or unauthorized solicitation including, but not limited to, commercial and legal solicitation is prohibited on the DCF.
 
I class a spammer as someone who only posts to provide a link to their own forum or website with no other purpose than getting that link in the public view.
 
I believe there is a recognized and trusted " MASTERSPAMMER" right here at DCF on the Virus/Spyware Forums, who has his underlings provide a link to advertise his sight with every post they answer.

Just an aside:

I have never seen any of these "Ads by Google" links, and certainly not at the reputable sites mentioned by Chik and ky331.

I must conclude that one of my "layers of protection" is blocking it (Spywareblaster, Hosts file, CounterSpy, Ewido, or even my IE security settings?)

Does anyone have any info on this?

Joe, back up your host files, then delete the one in the etc. folder. See if you can see the ads.
 
Then when done, open recycle bin and restore, or use your backup.
 
But if it's too much trouble, that's ok.:smileywink:

Well, I still can't see any "Ads by Google" at the sites mentioned.
 
I cleared my browser cache, deleted cookies, removed my HOSTS file, disabled SpywareBlaster protection, removed IESpyad, shut down my resident antispyware, and placed the reputable websites mentioned in my "Trusted Zone" (thereby ruling out IE security settings as a cause).
 
Very curious! Perhaps my ISP is blocking them.
