Hi ,

You have a Nail and/or Epolvy infection.

Please download Ewido Security Suite.

Run the installer.
When installing uncheck:
Install background guard
Install scan via context menu
Now open Ewido.
Update the definitons for Ewido.
Now close Ewido for right now.

Please download Ad-Aware SE Personal from this page.

Now download the VX2 Cleaner from this page.

Run Ad-Aware SE Personal.
Click Add-Ons.
Double-click VX2 Cleaner.
Click Ok to Excute this tool.
If nothing is found click Ok and exit the program.
or
If malware is found click Clean System.
When it's done click Start in Ad-Aware SE Personal.
Make sure Perform smart system scan is checked.
Click Next.
Let it clean anything it finds.

Now run HijackThis
Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\kvxexu.exe

Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.

Before we begin, let's move HiJackThis to it's own folder; like c:\HJT. When we're done ' cleaning' off your system, we're going to ' flush' the temporary folders which, with HiJackThis in it's current location, we'll lose both the program and the backups it creates. These backups are important in case we need to restore any 'fixed' entry(s) later.

Also move the " Backups" folder, for HiJackThis, if present.

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're ' in use', try deleting them from " Safe Mode".

Reboot .

Run Ewido.
Click on scanner. (Don't do anything on the computer while Ewido is running.)
Click Complete System Scan.
If you get a prompt asking to clean files then click OK.
When it cleans the first file put a check by Perform action on all infections and then choose clean and click OK.
Once the scan is done choose Save Report and save it your desktop.
Close Ewido.

Run Ad-Aware SE Personal.
Click Start in Ad-Aware SE Personal.
Make sure Perform smart system scan is checked.
Click Next.
Let it clean anything it finds.

Now reboot and post a new HijackThis log along with the Ewido log.

Boot into Safe Mode.

Open Killbox and run it.

1. select " Action | Delete on reboot".
2. copy/paste the following file name(s), one at a time, in the " Paste Path of File to Delete" field:


c:\windows\SvcProc.exe

3. click " Kill File".
4. when prompted to " Reboot Now" select " No".

After the second and last file is pasted in when prompted to " Reboot Now" select " Yes"

After Rebooting post a fresh log.

Ok I was trying to avoid you haveing to do this but I guess this will have to do.

This entry came with the Nail infectiion that we got rid of. Without that infection this is a harmless entry, but it wasn't how I was taught to do things so we will try to get rid of it this way.

It's my fault as I overlooked it the first time we cleaned the system.

So let's do this

Run the Ewido scan exactly as I asked you to before.

Then when it gets to the HJT part, open HJT and just check this entry here:

O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - c:\windows\SvcProc.exe (file missing)

Complete the rest of the fix as directed before and then post a new HJT log.
