Can't find awstr.dll
My computer performance has slowed dramatically. I was receivning Symntec antivirus messages about a vundo infection but vundo cleanup attempts found nothing. Now in one user profile, but not others, I get a Rundll message that awstr.dll cannot be found.

I am reviewing your log.
In the meantime, you can help me by doing the following:
* Have you have posted this log on another forum? If so, please provide a link to the topic.
* If you are using any cracked software, please remove it.

* If you are using any P2P (file sharing) programs, please remove them before we clean your computer.
The nature of such software and the high incidence of malware in files downloaded with them is counter productive to restoring your PC to a healthy state.
* If this computer belongs to someone else, do you have authority to apply the fixes we will use?
* Have you already fixed entries using HijackThis? If so, please restore all the backups and then post another log. Please do not do anything else until you get further instructions.
* After we begin working, please print or copy all instructions to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out procedures.
Please follow all instructions in sequence, and do not run any fixes or scanners on your own because this may cause conflicts with the tools that I am using.
* If your replies do not fit in one post while we are handling your issue, please reply to yourself until all text is submitted. It may take several posts.
You have multiple and conflicting anti-virus and anti-trojan software installed. Running more than one anti-virus program can make you less secure.
With more than one anti-virus program on the same computer, there is a chance for conflicts if a virus gets on the machine. Each of the anti-virus programs wants to "control" the situation and in some cases, the task of removing the virus does not get done at all.
You will also experience slowdown as each is trying to run in realtime, and you run the risk of data loss from a system crash that the instability can cause.
I suggest removing one of your realtime anti-virus scanners.
You are using an outdated version of HijackThis. Please remove that using the uninstaller within Hijackthis or by usoing Add/Remove Programs. Please download HJT Installer for version 2.02 from Here to your desktop.

Do not run it yet.
Please run Notepad and copy the following text into a new file:
sc config DomainService start= disabled
sc stop DomainService
sc delete DomainService
Save the file to the desktop as remove.bat and make sure the "Save as type" field says "All files". Locate remove.bat on the Desktop and double-click on it to run it. Please note any errors encountered.
Restart the computer to complete the fix.
Please launch Hijackthis and place a checkmark next to the following:

Fix this if you don't want Office running at Startup and using resources..

Close all windows except Hijackthis and click "Fix Checked".
close HijackThis.
Please Copy/Paste these next instructions into a Notepad file
(click "Start" >> "All Programs" >> "Accessories" >> "Notepad" ).
Save this file to your Desktop.
Next, please restart your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Once in Safe Mode, double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
- Copy the file path below to the clipboard (from your Notepad file) by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):
- Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
- Click the red Moveit! button.
*If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately, you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine, choose Yes.C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\Mom\LOCAL SETTINGS\Temp\awtsr.dll
Click "Exit" to close OTMoveIt.
Restart into Normal mode.
**When ready to Reply on the forum, please Paste the content of the latest log which is located at the root of the drive where OTMoveIt is installed, usually at :
C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles\********_******.log
(where "********_******" is the "date_time" )
Also include a fresh HijackThis log and let me know how things are running.
