Absolutely proceed with caution. As of now HopSurf's servers are down. You can read the EULA here:https://accounts.comodo.com/hp/management/eula Note the following extracts from that EULA: - 1.4. Comodo reserves the right to add additional features to HopSurf. When installed on your computer, HopSurf will periodically communicate with the Comodo servers to check for updates. The updates may occur automatically. - 1.5. 1.1.The Toolbar and the Services are not intended for use by or availability to persons under the age of 18. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, YOU MAY NOT DOWNLOAD, INSTALL OR USE THE TOOLBAR AND YOU MAY NOT ACCESS THE SERVICES. - 2.2. Comodo has the right to gather information regarding the use of HopSurf and you grant Comodo permission to collect this information. - 3.4. All search results accessible through the use of HopSurf search feature are copyrighted as a collective work under the U.S. copyright laws, and IAC Search & Media owns a copyright in the selection, coordination, arrangement and enhancement of such search results. Comodo obviously felt the backlash against its bundling of the IAC/ASK toolbar, and would have people believe they have removed it. They do not mention that HopSurf is also an IAC/ASK partner. Your use of this toolbar earns money for Comodo. Comodo installs this questionable toolbar by default, and without any opportunity to read the EULA first. The fact that Comodo continues to bundle garbage like this with a security product reaffirms my recent decision to abandon their products. This leopard has not changed its spots.
