malwarebytes is great, avg sucks they don't prevent rootkits and there really just a joke, also there detection rate sucks, they were good at one point and time, but have just let many people down. I also want to add that know antivirus detects everything, and to be fully protected you need a good fire wall, sand boxing or hips, a good antivirus and also on demand scanners.

try doing the scans in safe mode also get rid of avg(unless you paid for it, use either Microsoft Security Essentials or Avria free editon) also install super anti spyware free edition http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html
let me know how you make out

Hi Isz:
I would pay more attention to the advice given by BugBatter, ky331, joe53, and Red Dawn. They have all been around for ages and are quite knowledgeable about virus and spyware issues.

No I realize you are due to your message that was directed at the other user, has either program detected anything yet? Also when avg detected the items what were they called?

Just because I haven't been around as long does not mean that, I am not as knowledgeable or even more then them, and if most of you people are still recommending avg then I question your skills, I was only offering the first step in removal but if that does not work I would recommend more advance steps in getting this solved. Really you are questioning my skills when you don't know anything about me, or my knowledge.

I can only speak for myself for sure, but I doubt many of the regulars here "highly recommend" AVG, free or paid. However, many posters choose to use it, so we provide what help we can.
I (and I suspect others) have not chimed in here yet, in order not to give the OP conflicting advice.
All advice/opinions/help not clearly detrimental is welcomed here. Carry on ...
Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Actually, "All advice/opinions/help not clearly detrimental is welcomed here. Carry on ..." is not true. it should read "All advice/opinions/help not contrary to Dell's use policies are welcomed here. Carry on ..." Giving correct advice has never been a requirement. As far as I know there are only two forums with restricted use policies, the VIP forum and the Malware removal forum.
