downloaded update - now passwords do not work

We downloaded (what we believe to be ) a McAfee update this AM, and now when we log onto a site requiring a passoword (Yahoo mail, ebay, etc etc) we keep getting a message that says our password is invalid - even though we are certain it is correct.  I am only able to leave this message by using a different computer!  Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this; and what we should do to correct it?  Your help is appreciated - but we are newbies, so pls be BASIC in your explanation!  thanks.

If it happened after a McAfee update, perhaps it would be best to post here:

Since you are still "able to leave this message by using a different computer" --- implying that your underlying password has not really changed ---- but since you can't enter it correctly on your first computer:

Be sure that the CAPS LOCK wasn't accidentally set (which forces all letters to automatically be capitalized).   Many passwords are case-sensitive... meaning that, if you originally typed lower case letters, you must match exactly, without changing to caps.

We did check the Caps Lock - that's not the problem.  I also am trying to post on the McAfee site as was suggested; but am having difficulty as the site is more complicated than this one, and I cannot even figure out WHERE I should post.  :smileyhappy:  Suggestions are still appreciated!
