Downloader.Trojan Virus

Question

Hi, Norton antivirus detected a Downloader.Trojan virus on my hard disk but was not able to repair, quarentine nor delete the virus. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of it? Thanks.

Use these to remove Malware (Spyware and Adware).
Spybot S&D
Ad-Aware
Cwshredder
With all of these download them, install (after unzip if required), download the latest signature/update file, run, delete all that they find.

Failing those solving your problems a post of a hijackthis log for the experts to advise.

Download, run, scan, save log, then in notepad copy the FULL log by copy and paste to a post in one of these specialist spyware removal forums:-

If you have got windows xp go in Task Manager (ctrl+Atl+delete) and cheak in process and see anything that matches a Torjan Virus and then end it, then run the virus can then you should be able to delete it

im having the same problem - a trojan virus. william i had a question about your response, i did what you had suggested for the person with the same problem, but im not sure what i should be looking for under 'user name' in the 'processes' of the windows task manager. there's a lot of 'system' and the main user name used on the pc, the only other two that arent those are 'local service' and 'network service'.  i would apperciate any help you can give! thank you!!!!
