"Hidden Fax Window" hangs computer, especially when starting IE.
My computer hangs often, especially, it seems, when I start IE after coming out of stand by.
When it hangs and I am forced to restart, (via Start menu) I receive a dialog box that the "hidden fax window" is not responding. I have done a search of my C drive, but found nothing. Does anyone know what this is? How to disable? I run XP Home on a dell Dimension 3000 thats only a couple months old. Thank you for your time.

do a Google search using "hiddenfaxwindow" (without any blanks, although you get some hits with blanks as well). I did not go through all of them and did not find a quick solution. A lot of hits are people posting the problem, but no conclusive answer is provided. However, some of the people posted their Hijackthis log and were declared "clean". So it does not seem to be a bug at first glance.

The culprit is likely to the the HP software with the HPZipm12.exe file. See HP's article at the following link. It explains that firewall software can interfere with the program.
