Well, the computer is running pretty well now, there aren't any more random pop ups, and no more alerts that there is spyware. I actually can't really clarify it, but I'm pretty sure the whole computer is running faster. So, is there more to it than that, or are we done? Because its getting fun listening to your instructions. :D

  • Click Start->>All Programs->>Accessories->>System Tools->>Disk Cleanup

Disable and Enable System Restore


Now that your system is clean, lets create a clean System Restore point
the instructions are here

Update your Java

  • You are currently running an older version that has some security issues, the newer version is here

  • Once you've downloaded and installed the newer version;
    Go to Add/remove programs and uninstall all other previous versions.
    The only one that should remain is the newest version

Make your Internet Explorer more secure
This can be done by following these simple instructions:
  • Open Internet Explorer click Tools->> Options.
    Click Security tab
    Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
    Click Custom Level.
    Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
    Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
    Change the Initialise and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
    Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
    Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
    Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
    When all these settings have been made, click OK.
    If it prompts you to save the settings, press Yes.
    Next press Apply and then OK to exit the Internet Properties page

Update your Anti Virus Software
 
Use and maintain a Firewall such as ZoneAlarm
