Hijack this log...I need help please.

I am getting pop-ups galore and it is opening new IE7 window's. I have downloaded and ran HijackThis and will post my log below.  I have downloaded Adware and purchased spysweeper.  Spysweeper finds the virtumonde, but it keeps coming back when I go to get on internet. I run NIS 2008, and didn't catch this. I am using my laptop for fear of doing more damage to my computer! Both computer and laptop are Dell.  I have a homedaycare, and need my computer for info I have on there, but don't want to use it, since I don't know what this virus will do.

Ok, I ran the vundofix, removed it, and it rebooted.  I will post both logs below.  When it rebooted it came up with a RUNDLL error window that said "error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\dimcjadn.dll The specified module could not be found."

Also, I couldn't post a message here, after I hit submit, it just kept running like it was going to finish, but then came up to a IE page couldn't be displayed, it did that twice, and it started doing that after I got the spyware virtumonde on my computer.  So I tried using my yahoo, to e-mail it and it did the same thing, then tried using my outlook express and it will receive e-mail but won't send, says your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection.  Don't know what the problem could be! So I deleted spysweeper thinking it may be the cause, but it's still doing it.  It was not doing this pre-virtumonde, it started after I got the virumonde spyware.  I'm not sure what is causing this problem???  Below is my vundofix and my hijackthis log (I ran another after I deleted spysweeper so it is current). So I put the logs onto my external hard drive and transfered the logs to my laptop to post here (that is how I posted here the first time).

Last odd thing, it took my computer forever (longer than normal) to reboot after I deleted the spysweeper, and I looked at the task manager.  There was a Lucallbackproxy...and a Lucom...running and it was making my CPU usage all over the place, finally after 4-5 minutes they disappeared any I got my cpu usage back.  Is that suppose to be on there?

Thank you so much for your time and knowledge to help me fix this.  I very much apprciate the help!

The error was not unexpected. We will fix that in this post.

And the loading times on the PC may be affected as we use Vundofix.

1. We are going to run Vundofix again, but alter the instructions slightly
Run VundoFix again
  • At the Main window Rt Click in the Open Box and Select Add Files
  • A second window will open
  • Copy and paste the following into the blank boxes, one file path in each blank box.NOTE: There are 6 blank boxes. If there are more than 6 files to load. Then load 6
    Select Close window, then
At the Main window Rt Click in the Open Box and Select Add Files Again

    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\utjtvjjk.dll

Select Add Files ->> Repeat untill they are all loaded Then Close Window

  • Click the Remove Vundo button. Do not click the Scan for Vundo Button
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.

In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot

2. Rerun Hijackthis (scan only) and place checks beside the following entries
  • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7A6C14B1-4B20-4D54-92DC-DD3BBFC34B5A} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljgg.dll (file missing)

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: nutdb - C:\WINDOWS\Help\nutdb.dll (file missing)

Close all other open windows except Hijackthis and Select " Fix checked"

Close Hijackthis ->> Reboot your PC ->> Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh Hijackthis log as well as the C:\Vundofix.txt log

Good work. Almost there.

Please perform an Ewido Online Malware Scan

  • When a dialog box appears asking you if you would like to download and install the ewido anti-spyware online scanner please click Yes to allow the download.
  • Click on Start Scan.
  • after the scan completes i twill produce a log for you, copy and paste the results of that scan as a reply to this thread
  • If any infections are found, (After you save the logfile), Click on Remove Infections.

You may now remove/delete/uninstall the tools we used to clean your PC

Now that your log is clean

There are some final notes:
Disable and Enable System Restore
  • Lets create a clean System Restore point
    the instructions are here

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.

Updating Java:
  • Download the latest version of
    Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.u4.
Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
Click the " Download" button to the right.
Check the box that says: " Accept License Agreement".
    The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u4-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.

Update your Anti Virus Software

Use and maintain a Firewall

Download and install SiteHound by Firetrust for protection against malicious websites.

Pick the version that matches your browser

Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently for critical updates

Backup your Important Documents and Files on a regular basis
  • To a disc or a USB key, not your Hardrive

I can't thank you enough for your help, it is VERY much appreciated!  I plan on sitting down tonight and doing all the things you suggested to help protect my computer, so this hopefully won't happen again!  Thanks again! You rock!

Bamajim

My Norton's 2008 ran it's weekly scan last night and it came up with 3 things.  Trojan.vundo, Trojan.Metajuan, and downloader.  It said it quarentined them, but I'm concerned they are still there.  I don't know why I would be having a virus again.  We have had this computer for 3 years and never had one virus and now I can't get rid of them! I'm sorry to ask again, but will you please advise me if these are really on my computer, or if Norton's is just "seeing" some of the things I used to fix the virtumonde. Because I went into the quarentine file and one of the files was the vundofix.txt log file from the fix you helped me with.  I will go ahead and post another Hijackthis log for you. I'm also concerned because I paid several bills on-line yesterday and I'm worried about one of the virus having a keylogger on it, what should I do?

The Vundo files found by Norton could have come from the Vundofix backup files that are created by the removal tool (in which case they are not a threat). There is not sign of any active Vundo in your Hijackthis log.

However we can take another look if you wish.

Run an online virus scan called Kaspersky from HERE.
  • 1. Click on " Kaspersky Online Scanner"
    2. A new smaller window will pop up. Press on " Accept". After reading the contents.
    3. Now Kaspersky will update the anti-virus database. Let it run.
    4. Click on " Next"->>" Scan Settings", and make sure the database is set to " extended". And check both the scan options. Then click OK.
    5. Then click on " My Computer". And the scan will start.
    6. When the scan is complete Select "Save error report as"
Then in the file name just type in kaspersky
Under "save as type" select text .txt
    Save it to your Desktop.

Copy and post the results of the Kaspersky Online scan
